Client brief
Campbelltown City Council approached SLD for an inquiry and quotation for the supply of overhead solar lighting for Bradbury Oval as part of an overall redevelopment of the area. The lighting was required to meet Australian standard lighting and light up both the walkway and the road either side of the solar lights.
Assessment
Bradbury Oval is a host to many sporting and leisure activities making the areas perfect for new lighting to be supplied by SLD and installed by the Campbelltown City Council. Due to the area being extremely open, the planning and installation of where the solar fittings were placed showed minimal challenges regarding low sun exposure levels.
Outcome
Campbelltown City Council installed the dual mounted solar fittings throughout the carpark of Bradbury Oval, illuminating both the carpark and the walkway. The supplied solar fittings included 80w blade solar fittings and 20w blade solar fittings which used custom dual mounted brackets along side custom 8m tapered lighting columns. The blade fittings also allowed for custom programming of the light’s settings. In this instance they were programmed to produce 100% power for 4 hours and 30-100% power motion sensor setting until dawn.
