Client Brief
SLD was approached by a Western City Council, who required illumination of a new Pedestrian crossing and roundabout. Both locations were to be illuminated to meet the Australian Lighting standards, have constant dusk to dawn illumination and be installed on powdercoated lighting columns.
Assessment
After conducting site visitations with council confirming the scope, Solar Lighting Designs presented a DIALux report to confirming the installation would the two Australian standards required. The works called for our Modular Pro solar fittings as the quantity/wattage of the solar panels, the output of the fitting and the battery quantities are scalable to suit the lighting requirement.
Outcome
30w and 60w Modular Pro Solar Lights were fitted to 6000mm SLD engineered hinged lighting columns with outreach arms. The SLD hinged columns are designed, fabricated and powdercoated in our own premises. Hinged columns allow installation of the column and fitting combined safely from ground level, without the use of elevated work platform. The hinge plate is fixed to the engineered foundation cage, the solar panels, batteries and light fitting are installed to the column before being raised into place.
