Client brief
Wollondilly Shire Council completed a pedestrian pathway along Remembrance Drive leading from Picton to Tahmoor. Australian standard constant output lighting was required at the halfway point, where a newly constructed refuge island was placed where the pathway changed to the opposite side of the road.
Assessment
After conducting site visitations with council, Solar Lighting Designs conducted full DIALux reporting to ensure that all Australian standards were met. The works involved meeting two Australian standards, ensuring the roadway received constant output lighting while the lead in pathways on both sides of the road were also illuminated.
Outcome
We installed our 30w Modular Pro Solar Lights mounted to 6000mm fixed lighting columns on both sides of the refuge island. Each light was fitted with a singular solar panel and two batteries, ensuring the lights could work at 100% output all night and recharge fully within a few hours the following day.
Additionally, we installed our 20w Blade Overhead Solar Lights mounted on 4500mm fixed lighting columns on both pathways leading to the refuge island. These combinations of fittings provided Australian standard lighting and Wollondilly Shire Council was pleased with the outcome.
